Life

This is my cute mom. She's in a pretty hospital gown because today she went in for brain surgery to correct an aneurysm. She's known about the aneurysm for about a month and decided to get it taken care of through corrective surgery instead of "wait and see", which they gave her the option of doing. We all feel very good about her decision and we hope it gets the results she's looking for.

We began our day knowing she would be going "under" around 12:45 in the afternoon, but because of another emergency surgery the doctor couldn't see her until nearly 5:30 p.m. So most of our family hung out in the pre-op room with her laughing our brains out (oh wait, that's not funny) and enjoying each others' company. My mom has an amazing calm about her when she needs to be strong. I almost forgot why we were there because we were having so much fun.

But now she's in the O.R. and has been for about 2 and a half hours. It's amazing what happens to your heart and soul when someone you love is involved in something so ... what's the word? So... scary. I love her so much and I feel so blessed to have her in my life that I can't imagine life without her. Thoughts like that are creeping in right now and I'm scared. Waiting sucks. Keep us in your prayers.

I wish I didn't always cry. But this made me cry. I will be there tomorrow. Not that it will make anything better. But at least I won't feel so far away. Thanks for you beautiful words. They touch me and make me laugh till my brains fall out (oh wait, that's not funny).

Girl, I am here if you need me. Plain and simple, just call and I will come to you with icecream, books, movies whatever you need.

When my dad went in for his bypass I was a basket case. You are so strong and I admire you and your mom a whole lot. My thoughts are definitely with you. I love you guys.

Most importantly....love your mom...so glad she's okay. You're all in our prayers.

Next: With you as a friend and Connie as a sister how did I not know about this?! Consider yourself chastised...only a little....

Love you.

We both fasted on Wednesday (my first time in a LONG time--I figured I was more physically able to do so than you are) and we are keeping you all in our prayers!! We love you, your family, and "Mindy Mom!!" Please keep us posted on how things are going.

Bonnie, I had no idea. I absolutely adore your mom and dad, along with you and your sisters. Your family is definitely in my prayers and I know will be in my parents prayers also once they are informed. I hope things went smoothly with her surgery and that she recovers quickly and is stronger for it. Much love.
