candace girl

This is my little sister Candace who's all grown up and moving to New Zealand. At least it's not a mission so she can post on a blog and probably email and stuff. But she's leaving in 2 days and I'm really bummed about it. She is so much fun, she's BY FAR the best cook in the family (though Heather and Connie give her a run for her money) and she's always been the peacemaker among all of us crazy girls. She has such funky, fun style, and attitude to back it up. I love Sunday dinners and hanging out with her. It just won't be the same without her here. At least she'll be back before summer so we can play again soon.

Have so much fun Candace - we're all super jealous. If you want to keep up on her adventures, here's her blog. I love you girl!

happy day

Jon is so cute. I was having a heinous day and just wanted to melt away into nothingness (or a hot bath) so he must have known I needed a little boost. I LOVE the week after Valentine's Day because all the fabulous flowers are super cheap. Jon must love them, too. Or at least he loves me. Because he surprised me with a dozen roses and a big smile. I love you Jon!

Ahhh, sunshine.

Sometimes I wish I were born in the 70s. Or the 60s. This song just makes me happy. Oh yeah, groovy baby.

But this video is just ridiculous. What??? Something tells me the cute Asian guy doesn't quite know where West Virginia is. :) Good for a giggle.

Identity Crisis

So I sometimes have a hard time with my identity... online. This blog is a lot of fun for me, but I just can't seem to give it the look that matches my personality. I want something simple, but different, and not too crazy or too plain. Is that too much to ask? I guess I just don't have the time to make my own backgrounds right now, but every site I look on has really scrapbook-ish, trendy, weird things. I used this background because I happen to get very excited about St. Patrick's Day every year, so why not start a little early??

But when St. Patty has made his appearance I want to ditch this style and find my own. Does anyone have any good blog background websites? Help me find myself, please!! :)

Ugh.

Do you ever feel frustrated with your life? I do. Right now. Nothing that terrible is going on, I'm just a bit overwhelmed, a bit bored, and a bit ... can't put my finger on it. (But I think Eric can... here.) 25 kids drove me to insanity today, so when I got rid of them I sat at my desk to veg for a second. Except I couldn't find my desk. It was covered in pictures and flash cards and math assignments and plan books. So I left. When I got home I found piles of laundry, unfinished projects, a sink full of dishes, and a crazy dog. (Sigh... everyone feel bad for poor little Bonnie.)

Really, things are great. But I have SO much to do (clean, mostly) and I have zero energy or willpower to do it. So what do I do instead? Blog.

Ugh.

Tagged

So, you're supposed to go to your 6th photo file on your computer and open the 6th picture. Then blog about it. Do it if you want.
I tried, but my sixth file had only 5 pics in it. So this is the 5th file, 6th picture. I took this picture the day I graduated from Utah State. Logan, Utah has such great memories for me. I truly found myself and made some my best friends and most life-changing decisions there. That school made me who I am today, as cheesy as it sounds. I owe my career to Utah State (and my love of lemon custard ice cream and squeeky cheese). Will I ever go back? NO. Except to visit my lovely Connie. But it was a special time of my life. GO AGGIES!

P.S. - I was just curious what would happen, since I happen to be blogging on Valentine's Day. This is the 2nd photo file, the 14th picture. Sort of appropriate for a day of LOVE! (Gosh, what I wouldn't give to look like that again! I miss my hair.)

Happy Birthday Caity!

Sorry this is a day late, but that's just how I roll these days. I wanted to tell my buddy Caity how much I love her and how grateful I am to have her in my life. She is always so sweet and posts about her friends on their birthdays, so she FOR SURE deserves a little of that back her way! She's so genuine and sincere - I know that Caity is never "faking" anything or pretending just to be nice. She says it how it is and I LOVE THAT! She's a bucket of fun, no matter what we're doing. She also married a pretty great guy, so we can all hang out and have a blast! Well, Caity, I love you! I hope you had a great YOU day!

I can't sleep

Don't you hate it when you've had an exhausting day and just want to slip away to a fabulous world of slumber ... and you CAN'T?? I shouldn't complain because usually I can fall asleep at the drop of a hat, but it's often at times when I shouldn't be sleeping. It's REALLY bugging me that Jon is asleep, Jovi's asleep, and even the baby is asleep (I think). It's just me, myself, I, and you... if you're out there. Well, goodbye cyber world. I'm going to try to sleep again.

Usually I'm a huge fan of the Grammy's. But this year I was slightly less that thrilled with the performances and awards. Only this performance BLEW MY MIND!! Not because of the artistic nature of the thing, but because I found my new favorite OUTFIT! :) This is M.I.A. singing her little heart out on her DUE DATE! Props, girl.

An Idea From Cute Tara

Lucky you!

I saw this on a friend's blog and thought that it was a fun idea! So here it goes:

The first five people to respond to this post will get something made by me! My choice. For you.

This offer does have some restrictions and limitations:
1- I make no guarantees that you will like what I make!
2- What I create will be just for you.
3- It'll be done this year. (might be a little while)
4- You have no clue what it's going to be.
It may be a story. It may be poetry, shoes, bags, or a little invention of my own! I may draw or paint something. I may bake you something and mail it to you. Who knows? Not you, that's for sure!
5- I reserve the right to do something extremely strange. Believe me... it may blow your mind!

The catch? Oh, the catch is that you must repost this on your blog and offer the same to the first 5 people who do the same on your blog. The first 5 people to do so and leave a comment telling me they did win a FAB-U-LOUS homemade gift by me! Oh, and be sure to post a picture of what you win when you get it!

Hmm... I've always wondered...

Thanks Molly for this fun idea. I've just spend the last hour laughing my head off!
The rest I can handle... but Justin Timberlake??

I knew there was a reason I married Jon - I LOVE Lauryn Hill! :) So funny!

Love/Hate Relationship

Why I love having a dog:
She's artistic.She helps me cook.

And sometimes she's just so darn cute. Why I hate having a dog:
I don't even know what to say...

Happy Birthday To Me!

I really do have the most wonderful friends in the world. My good buddies and I all got together for brunch last week to celebrate my birthday. I kept thinking about getting everyone together, but I was so busy that I never did. Luckily my friends are not nearly as scatterbrained and they threw together a beautiful get-together. Thanks guys! I love you! Here's a little "taste" of our brunch:

The cinnamon rolls that Jon made (with home-ground wheat!) Yum!The ladies - Jessica, Caity, DianaJon practicing to be a daddy with LondonGavin keeping a careful eye on Jon (in case we got any crazy ideas)!Bob and Eric - never a dull moment! A Day Off

Maybe it's the weather. Maybe it's the LONG stretch from Christmas break to Spring break. Or maybe it's the pregnancy. Either way, I was ready to kill some kids yesterday. So I did something I've never done before (intentionally). I just decided I was going to take the morning off. I didn't think twice about it. I didn't ask permission (though that may come back to bite me in the butt). I just left my little darlings in the hands of a sub and didn't show up until after lunch.

It was SPLENDID! I slept in, did my hair, watched some MTV, cleaned my house, and Jon and I even had lunch together. Then when I went back to school, the kids cheered and ran to give me a hug. They were probably just glad to NOT see the evil swamp-witch that has been making their lives miserable for the last little while! It's amazing what a little makeup and a real hair-do will do for you!

Winter is long and dreary. I highly recommend a personal day to help you get through it!
